AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS | BEST DRESSED

Another awards ceremony has come and gone, this time the American Music Awards. I couldn't help myself looking through all the outfits from the night and started compiling a list of my Best Dressed. I must say, I wasn't blow away by the style choices this year but never the less here is a selection of my favourites:

Ariana Grande in Dolce and Gabbana
Christina Aguilera in Maria Lucia Hohan
Daisy Fuentes
The One Direction boys in suits...
Kendall Jenner in Keepsake and Kylie Jenner in a Maiyet top and Giambattista Valli pants
Luke Bryan
Loving the detailed jacket!
Maia Mitchell
Naya Rivera in Michael Kors
Nicole Richie in Emilio Pucci
Taylor Swift in Julien MacDonald

Who did you think looked amazing as this years ceremony?

10,000 VIEWS CELEBRATION!

Last week my blog reached 10,000 views!! I am so excited and grateful to all of you beautiful people that take the time to read it. I decided to celebrate by baking a cake and I took it into uni to share with my girls.

I decided to made a chocolate cake with strawberry butter cream. I've never been very good at cooking or baking but I suppose I should at least try. I did think it was quite yummy, I just hope everyone else agreed!

The recipe for the chocolate cake came from BBC Good Food. It is actually a cupcake recipe which is what I was going to make before I forgot to buy cupcake cases... If you are making a cake I would double the recipe unless you want a very small cake.

I then used an addapinch.com strawberry buttercream recipe which was easy to make and so lush. I ended up making a little too much for the cake so got to snack on the leftovers later ;)

I would also recommend using grease proof paper as well as butter because my cake stuck to the tin so I had to serve it from the tin.

Overall, I had fun and it was yummy. Thank you so so much for all the support, I love writing this blog and sharing things with you guys :)

Lots of love xox

A DAY IN PRESTON

For those of you who don't know, I am at currently at uni in Preston so a couple of weeks ago my momma came to visit. It was just for the day so we did lots of girlie things :)  I love going home for weekends to enjoy the home comforts like home cooked food, heating and a clean house. And of course to see my momma but it was a nice change for her to visit me here!

The first thing we came across was a little vintage beach in one of the shopping centres. There were even the striped deckchairs, buckets and spades and bunting. I thought it was such a lovely idea and all the children were clearly having a great time!

After we had finished shopping we went to this gorgeous cupcake shop called Strictly Cupcakes. It's just down Canon Street and it not only sells amazing cupcakes like the ones below but yummy treats and little trinkets and it is decorated in the cutest vintage style! They do an amazing variety of milkshakes, I can recommend the Oreo one and it is really reasonably priced, perfect for a student. Canon Street is also full of vintage clothing stores such as Retro Rehab and you can get a vast array of tea's at the Mystery Tea House.

Above are 3 of the cup cakes my momma bought for me and my house mates. We got strawberry, raspberry, Maltesers and a Chocolate Orange which Rob had nibbled before I could take a picture!  Momma also treated me to a new pair of boots (she understands I'm a poor student!) from Primark. They were only £20, they are reasonably comfy and I love the gold details and the buckles.

Jut before we both headed home we went to one of my favourite places to eat in Preston, Moka. They have a tapas menu and do a really discounted menu early evening. They also have amazing cocktails and we all know I can't resist a strawberry Daquiri!

Does anyone else have any recommendations in Preston? What sort of things do you like to do when people come to visit?

CREATIVE EVENTS MANAGEMENT

One of my current modules at uni is Creative Events Management. On the 24th of October we held our first event as a group so I thought I would share it with you all and you can see why I haven't been blogging too much!

We held a sample sale in the SU at UCLan University for Manchester based menswear brand Risk Couture. We also wanted to make the event more of an experience than just a sale so we organised an amazing DJ called Omar who played House and Hip Hop music and we gave away lots of discounts and free sweets.

The event was really successful and we all had so much fun :) Now we get to do it all again, bigger and better, before Christmas! Here are some pictures from the day:

Sorry the images aren't great quality, I just took them quickly on my phone in between customers :)
