Last summer myself and Robert treated ourselves to an amazing 10 days away in Munich.
As it was a while ago I thought I would just share a selection of photo diaries with you as I can't quite remember all of the details.
Our first few days we spent wandering the streets and getting a feel for the city. We both absolutely love Berlin so we were excited to explore another German city. It is a wonderful mix of mostly traditional architecture with some flashes of modern elements.
The main streets were bustling but just one block away you could walk for several blocks without seeing a soul. Bizarre no? I think with Munich it's difficult to stumble across places, you kind of need to know where you are going. Luckily one of Rob's friends was living there at the time so he provided great company in the Beirkeller's.
We stayed at the fantastic Bold Hotel Giesing which was just over a 5 minute walk to the underground and even closer to a Netto and Aldi for those student saver packed lunches ;) It was clean and modern, painted a gorgeous grey with an Ikea feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice outside area with cute furniture and blankets to enjoy a beer in the afternoon after a long day exploring.
Have I convinced you to visit Munich yet? If not, check back for part 2!
