A 60km drive out of Cape Town is one of the most beautiful, breathtaking and well preserved Cape Dutch farms, Babylonstoren. It is an absolute MUST.
Begin the morning by exploring the expansive gardens which are sectioned off nicely and include an array of well kept produce. You will come across lemon trees, a mini maze, tea top alcoves, mulberry trees and rose arches among much, much more. I seriously had to take so many pictures.
When you are ready for a rest head to the Greenhouse for biltong sandwiches, green juice, crisp rose and make your own tea - you simply go into the greenhouse a pick the flowers/herbs you want to try and pop them in your own little teapot to brew.
Finish the day with a stroll through the lavender fields alongside the hens, tortoise, turkeys and donkey and finally a browse of the little shop. If you really can't face leaving? Just check into the Farm Hotel ;)
