Whale Watching, Hermanus

The next stop on our mini road trip up the Garden Route was whale watching in Hermanus.

Oops! ^

Take the R44 then the R43 along the coast 45 minutes further East from Betty's Bay and you will reach the beautiful seaside town which has a vast array of shops and eateries - more about that later.

Most importantly between July and November it is one of the top 12 whale watching spots in THE WORLD! And if that isn't good enough you can do it all for free just by walking along to coastal path. The world's only whale crier will help point you in the correct direction then all you have to do is take a seat and you are a stones throw away from the Southern Right Whale.

Head down to Bientang's Cave for a seafood lunch with the Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc and breaching whales in the background.

We spent the rest of the day doing a little shopping and spotting baby Dassies in the shrubbery!
